The terrorist attacks in Sri Lanka, where more than 350 people were killed, reaffirmed the necessity for cooperation in controlling the movement of terrorists and cutting off the sources of their funding. Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Army General Sergey Shoigu claimed about it, speaking at the Moscow Conference on International Security, which started in the Russian capital the day before.
“It’s no secret that militants who have been trained in Syria have lately been increasingly organizing large-scale terrorist acts in Europe, Southeast Asia and Central Africa. The recent terrorist attacks in Sri Lanka have reaffirmed the long overdue need to unite efforts to control the movement of terrorists and eliminate their sources of funding. If this is not done, then new centers of terrorism will emerge”, Minister mentioned, in particular.
As it is known that the central topics of discussion at the VIII Moscow Conference on International Security, organized by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, will be problems of global and regional stability, the restoration of Syria and Iraq, as well as various aspects of security in Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America.
