Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu presented Uzbekistan with a selection of archival documents on the contribution of the republic's people in defeating fascism during the Great Patriotic War.
"Our meeting is taking place on the eve of the Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. I have brought a collection of archival documents about the contribution of the Uzbek people to the common victory. I will hand them over at the end of our meeting," Shoigu said at talks with Uzbek Defense Minister Bakhodir Kurbanov in Bukhara on Wednesday.
The Russian Defense Minister then invited his colleague "to proceed to a discussion of topical issues of military and military-technical cooperation."
