South Sudan's Foreign Minister to visit Russia

Today Minister of Foreign Affairs and International cooperation of the Republic of South Sudan, Awut Deng Acuil, starts his two-day working visit to Russia.


Tomorrow, January 28, the diplomat will hold talks with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov.


The main topics of discussion include a wide range of issues related to the development of bilateral ties, as well as current international and regional issues.


The officials plan to focus on the situation in South Sudan itself, in particular, on the process of peaceful settlement of the internal conflict.


According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the political dialogue between Russia and South Sudan is mutually respectful and trustful.
There is potential for expanding trade and economic cooperation, including in such areas as energy, construction, development of roads, railways and pipelines infrastructure, and agriculture.
