Summit of the Organization of Turkic States to be held in Kazakhstan in 2023

The tenth summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTG) will be held in Kazakhstan in 2023. The press service of Kazakhstan's President announced this on Tuesday, following a meeting between the country's leader Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Secretary-General of the OTG Kubanychbek Omuraliev.


"The head of state noted that the organization's secretariat has the task of effectively implementing the priorities and initiatives adopted at the summit in Samarkand in October of this year. The Organization of Turkic States was established in 2009. The next, tenth, anniversary summit of the OTG will be held in Kazakhstan in 2023," the report says.


The president of Kazakhstan also congratulated Omuraliev on his appointment to the position of secretary-general of the OTG.


"Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that Kazakhstan, as one of the founders of the organization, is interested in developing multilateral interaction with Turkic states and will provide maximum support to the work of the secretariat. He emphasized that today the role and importance of the organization as a unique platform for strengthening cooperation and unity of Turkic peoples has increased significantly. The intention to expand trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties with the organization is expressed by many states of the world and international organizations," the press service explained.
