Chairman of the Central Spiritual Board of Muslims, Supreme Mufti of Russia Talgat Hazrat Tadzhutdin in his speech at the meeting of the Group of Strategic Vision "Russia - Islamic World" said that he would celebrate the adoption of Islam by the Volga Bulgaria as long as we are alive.
"During these blessed days and throughout the year, anniversary celebrations are held by order of the president of our country. As long as we are alive, we will celebrate the acceptance of Islam by the Volga Bulgaria every year."
Talgat Hazrat Tadzhutdin said that the Volga Bulgaria is the first Muslim state in Europe and its history is rich in events.
"Muslims of our immense motherland have accumulated a great heritage, which we will share with our brothers from the CIS," the sheikh noted.
Talgat Hazrat Tadzhutdin emphasized the role of the Muslim community of Russia in the current difficult situation in the world and added: "Besides the West we have the East and millions of our brothers and sisters who hold dear the homeland and the priceless heritage of our ancestors. And only Allah Almighty can threaten us with the Day of Judgment".
