Tajik Foreign Minister Sirodjiddin Mukhriddin has informed the foreign ministers of the CSTO member states about the situation of the conflict with Kyrgyzstan. This was reported by the Tajikistan MFA on Thursday.
"Sirodjiddin Mukhriddin gave detailed information about Kyrgyzstan's military aggression on Tajikistan's border areas," the statement said. The informal meeting of the foreign ministers of the CSTO member states took place on the margins of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly.
The ministry said that "the foreign ministers noted the significance of the adoption of the resolution of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly "Cooperation between the United Nations and the Collective Security Treaty Organization", which contributes to deepening cooperation between the organizations."
On Monday, Saimumin Yatimov and Kamchybek Tashiyev, heads of the intelligence services of the two countries, signed a protocol to resolve the armed conflict in the border areas.
The confrontation between the military of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan with the use of heavy weapons began on September 14 in the locality Keh of the Tajik enclave of Vorukh and continued until September 17 in some parts of the common border. According to the Tajik side, more than 40 citizens of the republic were killed in the conflict. Bishkek reported 59 Kyrgyz citizens killed.
