Taliban assures that they will not allow the presence of IS in Afghanistan

The terrorist group Islamic State (IS, banned in the Russian Federation) will not operate on the territory of Afghanistan, Shahabuddin Delawar, head of the radical Taliban (banned in Russia) delegation currently in Moscow, made this assurance at a press conference on Friday.

"We will take all measures to ensure that the IS movement is never on the territory of Afghanistan," he said.

Mohammad Sohail Shaheen, spokesman for the Taliban's political office, said the movement has successfully fought and is fighting the IS in the north and east of the country.

Shaheen noted that the Taliban did not promise the US that it would not take over the administrative centers of Afghanistan's provinces.

"That we will not attack administrative centers in the provinces is not a point of negotiation and agreements reached with the United States. These are our internal issues that have nothing to do with the content of the agreements reached," he said.

Delawar added that the US has not yet implemented the agreements to release Taliban prisoners, and has not removed the Taliban from the sanctions lists. However, the Taliban expects the US to stand by its withdrawal pledges.
