Rustam Minnikhanov - President of Tatarstan who heads the Group of Strategic Vision “Russia-Islamic world” took part in the Iftar which was held in the "Tent of Ramadan " in the Moscow Memorial Mosque.
This cultural event was also attended by the Chairman of the Council of Muftis of Russia, Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Russia, Mufti Ravil Gainutdin, Deputy Mayor of Moscow Marat Khusnullin, ambassadors of Turkey, Iran, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Indonesia. About 40 representatives of the diplomatic corps and Russian regions took part in the iftar.
Among the distinguished guests of the event are Army General, President of the Academy of Military Sciences, veteran of the World War II, 95-years-old, Makhmut Gareev, Deputy Chairman of the Group of Strategic Vision “Russia-Islamic world”, Farit Mukhametshin, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Nationalities, Ildar Gilmutdinov, Colonel-General Rasim Akchurin, honored member (Academician) of the Russian Academy of Sciences Robert Nigmatullin, and many other politicians, scientists, entrepreneurs. Overall, more than 3000 guests visited the "Tent of Ramadan" that evening.
According to the press-office of Tatarstan President, Rustam Minnikhanov welcomed and wished a well-being for all the guests. He emphasized the importance of meetings like this. The Chairman of the Group of the Strategic Vision “Russia – Islamic World” also thanked Marat Khusnullin - the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for urban planning and construction, for the attention to the needs of Muslims by Moscow authorities.
Welcome speeches were also made by the Deputy Head of the Department for Cooperation with Religious Organizations of the Administration of Russian President, Almaz Fayzullin, First Deputy Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustem hazrat Valiulin and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Russia Polad Bul-Bul Oglu.
It is important to note that this cultural event was dedicated to Shihabeddin Marjani – a prominent tatar theologian and historian. Life, faith and educational activities of great tatar thinker were revealed during the event.
