340 Russians who are staying in Malaysia have applied to the Embassy to return to their homeland, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the Russian diplomatic mission.
"Most of them are located in Kuala Lumpur, some - in remote regions of the country. The Embassy is in constant contact with them," the message reads.
Some of those who applied, the agency added, need urgent, immediate assistance.
"For example, one Russian citizen ran out of medicines that are required for her vital signs. There are families with children who found themselves without means of support. The Embassy is making efforts to solve these problems," the source was quoted as saying.
The Embassy noted that at the moment there is no information about how soon the export flight from Malaysia will be organized.
