Russia's foreign partners in military-technical cooperation (MTC) are showing an increased interest in domestic military equipment tested during the counter-terrorist operation in Syria. Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin said this in an interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta published on Sunday.

"Many of our partners have a steadily growing interest in Russian-made weapons. First and foremost, of course, there is interest in acquiring Russian military equipment, which has confirmed its high reliability and efficiency in real combat operations against international terrorist groups in Syria," Fomin noted. According to him, the list of such equipment includes small arms, aviation equipment, anti-aircraft defense means (air defense), electronic warfare systems, strike missile systems, naval equipment and others.

"The capacities of Russian defense industry enterprises producing such weapons are loaded for years to come," the deputy minister added.

According to him, Russia's foreign partners in the field of military-technical cooperation are particularly interested in Russian air defense means. "I especially note the interest of many countries in acquiring modern means of air defense, which allow feeling safer from "democracy," "arriving, as a rule, on the wings of bombers and drones." After all, only armed forces of countries with a competently built and modern air defense system are able to repel the massive use of strike aircraft, drones and cruise missiles, which in modern realities begins an armed conflict," Fomin said.

"Many of our partners, realizing the vital need to build their air defense systems, are planning to buy, and some have already bought Russian systems that have been successfully tested in real combat conditions," the deputy minister concluded.
