Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov said there was an attempt to illegally seize power.
"Last night, some political forces attempted to illegally seize state power. Using the results of the elections as a reason, they violated public order," he said in his statement.
The President stressed that he gave the order not to open fire.
"I ordered the law enforcement agencies not to open fire or spill blood in order not to endanger the lives of any citizen. So far, we have taken all possible measures to prevent the situation from aggravating. Calmness in the state, stability of society is more valuable than any deputy mandate", - said Jeenbekov.
Protesters, according to him, "violated the peaceful life of citizens": disobeyed law enforcement officers, beat up medics and damaged buildings.
The head of state noted that he proposed the CEC to investigate electoral violations and, if necessary, cancel the results. He appealed to the leaders of political parties to calm down their supporters, and asked all residents to keep peace and not to give in to provocations.
"Peace in our country and security in our society are the most important things. I urge all forces to put the fate of the country above political ambitions and return to the legal field," the head of state concluded.
On October 4 parliamentary elections were held in Kyrgyzstan. According to preliminary data, four parties pass to parliament: pro-governmental "Birimdik" and "Mekenim Kyrgyzstan" and centrist "Kyrgyzstan" and "Butun Kyrgyzstan". The others have not overcome the seven percent barrier.
On the eve, about two thousand party supporters who had not entered parliament gathered in Bishkek's central Ala-Too Square. They demanded that the results of the elections are canceled and a second vote held. In the evening, law enforcers tried to disperse the rally and clashes began. According to the Ministry of Health, 590 people were injured and one died.
At night, protesters broke into the White House, where the parliament and presidential administration are located, and then moved towards the State Committee for National Security and released former President Almazbek Atambayev from custody.
