The Presidents of Russia and Lebanon adopted a joint statement on terrorism

 The Presidents of Russia and Lebanon Vladimir Putin and Michel Aoun, after the talks, adopted a joint statement, which among other things, refers to the inadmissibility of the use of terrorism for geopolitical purposes.

 

“The Russian Federation and Lebanon declare the following: note the admissibility of violating the principles of sovereignty and equality of states, the use of terrorist and extremist organizations as tools for realizing political and geopolitical goals. They emphasize that the terrorism is not related to any culture, religion or nationality”, the text of the document says.

 

Russia and Lebanon, as noted, “consider terrorism in all its forms and manifestations as one of the serious threats to international peace and security, regional and global stability, sustainable development”, and also “express strong support for the efforts of the UAR authorities and its allies with terrorism in the face of “Islamic State”, “Dzhebhat an-Nusra” (both groups in the Russian Federation are prohibited) and groups affiliated with them”.
