The war in Syria would end very quickly if the United States withdrew its troops from this Middle Eastern country. Such statement was made by Virginia senator Richard Hayden Black.
“If we (the USA) had left, I think the war would have ended very quickly,” the politician noted. “And Syria would be reunited and stabilized, and people could truly begin the recovery.”
The US senator added that Syria could have ended the war if Washington and the allies had not intervened and had not built their bases in northeastern Syria and Al-Tanf in the south of the country.
The politician also criticized the proposed negotiations on the revision of Syrian constitution, explaining that it guarantees the rights of women, freedom of religion and the rule of law.
In addition, Black also praised the role of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in the negotiations on Syria, calling him a “sophisticated person,” RIA Novosti reports.
