On October 30-31, the World Thematic Conference of Russian Compatriots Living Abroad took place in Moscow. 155 leaders and activists of the Russian community, prominent representatives of the Russian diaspora from 93 countries, as well as members of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, heads and representatives of federal and regional executive authorities, etc attended the conference.
Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and Chairman of the Government Commission on Compatriots Living Abroad, addressed a welcoming message to the conference participants. He, in particular, noted the contribution of compatriots to ensure the continuity of generations, the preservation of the Russian language and culture in families, raising children in the spirit of love for the historical homeland.
During the conference, a Protocol on cooperation was signed between the Council of the Eurasian Women's Forum under the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the World Coordinating Council of Russian Compatriots Living Abroad (WCC).
The participants of the forum decided to join the activities of the Eurasian Women's Forum and work on the establishment of an international non-governmental organization of Russian-speaking women in order to develop ties between women's communities of compatriots around the world.
