Tokayev and Putin expressed satisfaction with the state of cooperation between the two countries

Presidents of Kazakhstan and Russia Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Vladimir Putin in a telephone conversation expressed satisfaction with the state of cooperation between the two countries. This was reported on Tuesday by the press service of the president of Kazakhstan.


"During their telephone conversation, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Vladimir Putin expressed satisfaction with the current state of cooperation between the two countries. The Kazakh president gave a positive assessment of the prompt interaction of the governments to solve urgent problems of economic, transport and logistics relations between the two states," the statement reads.

 

Earlier, the press service of the Kremlin reported that the leaders of the two countries discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation in line with the agreements reached on the results of the Russian-Kazakhstan high-level talks held in St. Petersburg on June 17. They confirmed their intention for further strengthening of strategic partnership and alliance between the two countries, and the consistent implementation of specific projects in the trade, economic and energy spheres.


Putin and Tokayev's previous meeting was held on June 17 on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, and on the same day they took part in the plenary session of the SPIEF. At the end of June, the presidents of Russia and Kazakhstan, along with the other leaders of the Caspian Five, participated in the Caspian Summit in Ashgabat.
