President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has signed a decree appointing Murat Nurtleu as Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Foreign Affairs. This was reported on Monday by the press service of the head of state.
"To appoint Murat Abugaliyevich Nurtleu as Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, dismissing him from the position of Head of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan," the document reads.
Nurtleu, 47, has headed the administration of the president of Kazakhstan since January 2022. In different years, he worked as first deputy chairman of the national security committee and deputy head of the administration of the president of the republic.
Kazakhstan held elections to the Majilis (lower house) of parliament on March 19. On March 29, Tokayev signed a decree instructing the government to serve until a new cabinet of ministers was approved. On March 30, the president reappointed Alikhan Smailov as Prime Minister of Kazakhstan.
