Tor missile systems have shot down more than 45 drones during the war in Syria

The Tor missile system shot down in Syria more than 45 drones of militants of handicraft production,  the head of the military air defense of the Armed forces of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Alexander Leonov said.


"Since the beginning of combat duty, the calculations of combat vehicles [of the Tor complex] have hit more than 45 UAVs of artisanal production," Leonov said "Natsionalnaya Oborona" ("National Defense") magazine.


According to him, the short-range Tor anti-aircraft missile system of various modifications is the main means of fighting the striking elements of high-precision weapons and combat aircraft in the tactical link in the Ground forces.  The complex covers objects in Syria in cooperation with the S-400 and Pantsir-S.


"For practical work on the issues of hitting small-sized targets, air defense units have created an exact copy of a UAV used by militants of illegal armed groups in Syria," the General said.
