Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan have resumed in Moscow the work of the trilateral working group on Karabakh, at a meeting held on Tuesday, the representatives discussed the prospects for the restoration of transport communications in the South Caucasus region and the implementation of the agreements of the leaders of the three countries, a press release published on the government website reports.
"At the meeting held in Moscow on August 17, the sides reviewed the prospects for the restoration of transport communications in the South Caucasus region and discussed the progress of further work carried out under the statement of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia and President of the Russian Federation of January 11, 2021," the statement reads.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Ministers of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan Alexey Overchuk, Mher Grigoryan and Shahin Mustafayev.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan signed a joint statement on the full cessation of hostilities in Karabakh on November 9, 2020. On January 11, they agreed to establish a working group at the level of deputy prime ministers of the three countries, which will focus on the establishment of transport and economic ties in the region. The first meeting of the working group was held in Moscow on January 30 of this year.
