Tunisian President Kais Saied has appointed Ahmed Hachani as the new Prime Minister of the country, according to a statement from the president's administration.
Hachani was sworn in on August 1 at the Carthage Palace, succeeding Najla Bouden Romdhane, who had been the first female prime minister in Tunisia's history.
Romdhane had been leading the government since October 2021.
However, the specific reasons for the change of prime minister have not been disclosed yet.
