Turkey and Saudi Arabia have entered into a cooperation agreement aimed at jointly developing natural resources. This comprehensive document outlines various collaborative initiatives, including the joint implementation of projects in the field of wind and solar energy. Alparslan Bayraktar, the head of the Turkish Energy Ministry, confirmed the provisions of this agreement.
"Today, we had the honor of hosting a visit from Saudi Arabia's Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar Alkhorayef. During this visit, we successfully signed a significant cooperation agreement focused on the development of natural resources," the Turkish minister announced on TRT. He conveyed his optimism that both nations will promptly initiate the execution of this agreement.
He further noted that this agreement was established based on the understandings achieved during Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's visit to the Persian Gulf states in July. Bayraktar highlighted that Turkey has inked contracts totaling $50 billion with Saudi Arabia and Qatar, with a significant portion of $29 billion originating from the energy domain. "We're excited about making new deals in renewable energy," Bayraktar said, adding that more details about the investments will be revealed soon.
