Turkey hopes for a positive outcome in the negotiations with Russia on the supply of  amphibian aircraft for their use in extinguishing natural fires, the country's Agriculture and Forestry Minister Vahit Kirisci said on Thursday.

"Tomorrow in Sochi, Turkish and Russian presidents [Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Vladimir Putin] will hold talks where the issue of amphibious aircraft that can be used in extinguishing forest fires is expected to be discussed. We hope for their positive result," the minister said at a meeting with journalists from the Anatolian Agency.

The issue of supplying Turkey with amphibious planes was discussed on July 19 in Tehran at a meeting between Turkish and Russian leaders.
