The authorities of the Turkish province of Izmir, where forest fires have been raging in recent days, recognized the effectiveness of Russian Be-200CHS amphibious aircraft that were sent by Russia to Turkey in mid-June.

"It was the first time we used a plane leased from Russia in Izmir, and it was very effective. Our plane was already in the area of the fire just 27 minutes later. He worked for about an hour and during this period of time made seven flights. He made a huge contribution to preventing the fire, "Sabah newspaper quoted Zafer Derinc, head of the regional Forestry Department, as saying on Monday.

According to him, "an important advantage of the Be-200CHS is high maneuverability and the ability to collect water from pools at dams."

On June 16, the United Aircraft Corporation reported that Russia sent two Be-200CHS to Turkey, which were starting work to prevent the spread of forest fires on the territory of the Republic.

"The Russian Be-200 is an amphibious aircraft with unique characteristics and high efficiency. The aircraft has proven itself during firefighting and rescue operations in Europe and Southeast Asia. The Be-200CHS is an export-oriented product that arouses great interest among foreign customers. Joint work with Turkish partners shows that we can have a good potential for developing cooperation, including in the supply of aircraft in the interests of updating the fleet of the Turkish fire service, " General Director Yuri Slyusar said.

Earlier, the aircraft was demonstrated at the MAKS-2019 air show, and also took part in the Turkish "Technofest".
