Two members of the Kyrgyz delegation that returned from Moscow were hospitalized with COVID-19, Deputy Minister of Health of Kyrgyzstan Madamin Karatayev said at a press conference on Thursday.
"Two members of the delegation were hospitalized in the Republican infectious diseases hospital," Karatayev said.
According to the Deputy Minister, the other members of the delegation are being monitored until the results of the tests that were taken after their return to Bishkek are ready.
On Wednesday, Kyrgyz leader Sooronbay Jeenbekov did not participate in the Victory parade in Moscow due to the fact that two members of the Kyrgyz delegation were identified with COVID-19. As previously reported, according to the algorithm, the President, members of the delegation and accompanying persons passed tests for the coronavirus before flying to Russia, all of them came out negative. However, upon arrival in Moscow, the head of the Department of the foreign policy of the presidential administration, Daniyar Sydykov, and one security officer were found to have a positive result when passing a second test. The President decided to refrain from participating in events dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic war.
