The United Arab Emirates supports Saudi Arabia's energy security efforts and rejects claims that OPEC+'s latest decision to cut oil production is political, the UAE Ministry of foreign affairs and international cooperation said in a statement issued Monday.
"The United Arab Emirates fully supports Saudi Arabia's efforts to achieve energy stability and security as well as the interests of oil producers and consumers, which will boost the global economy," the statement said.
The ministry stressed that the decision of the OPEC+ countries to reduce oil production was made by consensus and was "technical in nature". The ministry also pointed to the need for a constructive dialogue that meets the interests of all market players.
