US Coalition Aircraft Breach Syrian Airspace Eight Times Overnight

06 May

According to Major General Yuri Popov, the deputy head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Warring Parties, F-15 fighter jets and A-10 Thunderbolt attack aircraft from the US-led international coalition trespassed Syrian airspace on eight occasions within the past 24 hours, specifically in the al-Tanf area.

"During the day, there were eight violations involving two pairs of F-15 fighter jets and three pairs of A-10 Thunderbolt attack aircraft in the al-Tanf region. Such actions by the coalition continue to pose risks for aviation incidents and accidents, further exacerbating the situation in Syrian airspace," stated Popov.

He further noted that five instances of violations of the deconfliction protocols established on December 9, 2019, pertaining to uncoordinated unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) flights in conjunction with the Russian side were recorded.
