Russia is the closest partner and ally for the Central Asian countries, and a trustful dialogue with it is especially important in conditions of worsening geopolitical threats, Acting Uzbek Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov said on Friday.
"In the conditions of aggravation of numerous threats and challenges, a dialogue of trust and mutual understanding between Central Asian countries and Russia is especially important. Russia is the closest friend, partner and ally for the countries of our region," Saidov said at a meeting in the "Central Asia + Russia" format in Samarkand.
"Over the past period we have managed to significantly expand interaction in political, trade and economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian and other areas, Uzbekistan and Russia have always been together, our countries remain reliable allies and strategic partners," he added.
