The incumbent authorities in Afghanistan should hear a united voice and approach of the world community, which wants fundamental human rights to be ensured in Afghanistan, Ismatullah Irgashev, Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan, told TASS on Tuesday.
"The current Afghan authorities must ensure fundamental rights of people, national minorities, especially women and girls, to ensure that girls can study in high schools, that they have the right to work and freedom of movement," said the spokesman at the international conference "Afghanistan: Security and Economic Development," which kicked off in Tashkent on Tuesday.
On severing relations between Afghanistan and terrorist organizations
The international community hopes to hear from the current Afghan authorities a promise to sever relations with international terrorist organizations, including Al-Qaeda, said Irgashev.
"We very much hope to hear from the head of the Afghan delegation (Acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi) a promise to sever relations with international terrorist organizations, including Al-Qaeda, these are the important goals and objectives of the current conference on Afghanistan," the interlocutor said.
