Jordan is an important partner of Russia in the Middle East, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with King Abdullah II of Jordan.
"Jordan has always been a very important partner for us in the Middle East. Last year we celebrated 55 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries. You and I are keeping in contact with each other", - said, in particular, the Russian leader.
Vladimir Putin reminded that in 2018 the trade turnover between Russia and Jordan increased almost 4 times.
The King of Jordan, in turn, said that he supports Russia's strong presence in the Middle East, and is ready to listen to Moscow's recommendations on a number of issues.
"I would like to emphasize the role of Russia in our region. Without Russia, many issues, such as the peace process in Syria and other issues would not be able to develop. Therefore, I want to emphasize the important role of Russia", - Abdullah II said.
