Moscow strongly condemns the terrorist attack near the hospital in Kabul and expresses its condolences to the families of the victims, Russian foreign ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said at a briefing on Wednesday.
"We strongly condemn the terrorist act carried out yesterday, November 2, by ISIS (former name of IS group banned in Russia) near a military hospital in Kabul, which killed, according to current data, about 20 people and injured more than forty citizens," said the diplomat. - "We express our condolences to the families and friends of the victims and wish a speedy recovery to the injured".
Zakharova noted that the Russian side also notes the efforts of the interim Afghan government in this regard "to ensure security and restore normal peaceful life".
According to the AFP, at least 19 people were killed and 50 more wounded in the November 2 attack on the Muhammad Daoud Khan military hospital in Kabul. In turn, the Press TV Iranian TV channel informs about 25 victims. According to Afghan media, the attacks were carried out by fighters from the Islamic State in Khorasan, an offshoot of the extremist organization Islamic State.
