"Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will take part in the international conference on Libya, which is convened at the initiative of French President [Emmanuel Macron] in Paris on November 12. The task of this forum, as well as similar representative meetings that preceded it, in particular, they were held in Palermo, in Berlin, is to mobilize additional efforts of the world community to assist the Libyan settlement process in clarifying the goal and task of ensuring a comprehensive and sustainable normalization of the situation in this country," she said.

As the diplomat noted, Russia participated in all major multilateral events that were designed to help Libyans and sought to make a constructive contribution to resolving the crisis in that country. "Today, when Libya is at a turning point in its history, we expect that the decisions adopted at the Paris forum will contribute to a speedy overcoming of the consequences of the prolonged destructive crisis in Libya and its return to the path of progressive development for the benefit of all Libyans," Zakharova concluded.
