It is impossible to reform the judicial system of Kyrgyzstan without radical measures. This was stated on Friday in Bishkek at the congress of judges by the president of the republic, Sadyr Japarov.
"No matter how many good laws are adopted, no matter how many good conditions for judges' work are created, and they are fully provided with material support, if the judicial system is not renewed and cleaned up, it will be difficult to change it without striving for radical changes," he said.
The head of state stressed that the work of judges is "extremely difficult and responsible." "Judges are constantly faced with conflicts, disputes, and tragic cases, and not everyone can handle that kind of stress and strain. Nevertheless, it is your choice. You have chosen this difficult and at the same time honorable way of life," the president addressed the congress participants.
The president reminded that recently the leadership of the Constitutional and Supreme Courts had been replaced.
"Of course, former chairmen worked pretty well. They worked well. In this case, we hope that the reforms will be carried out faster if they (court chairmen - TASS) are changed every three to five years", he stressed.
