President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov is set to visit Russia on February 20-21 at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The visit will include Zhaparov's participation in the opening ceremony of the Games of the Future, a multi-sport tournament in Kazan. This information was announced by Muratbek Azymbakiev, the head of the foreign policy department of the Kyrgyz president's administration, in Bishkek.
Azymbakiev stated, "President of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov will pay a working visit to the Russian Federation on February 20-21 at the invitation of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. The head of state will take part in the official opening ceremony of the international multi-sport tournament Games of the Future in the city of Kazan."
The Games of the Future in Kazan will feature a range of sports competitions, including phygital and computer (e-sports) sports. Over 260 teams and approximately 2,000 athletes and cyber athletes from different countries are expected to participate in 21 unique innovative disciplines.
Azymbakiev also noted that the event anticipates the attendance of various foreign heads of state, prominent international figures, public figures, and heads of major IT companies. Additionally, bilateral meetings are scheduled between President Zhaparov, President Putin, and the head of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, during which they will discuss various issues of Kyrgyz-Russian cooperation, including trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian, and investment spheres.
