Head of Dagestan Ramazan Abdulatipov told the Group meeting that Russia is a country where people practice different religions and has a long and successful experience of cooperation between different ethnic and religious groups.
"The city of Derbent has been considered the 'Jerusalem of the Caucasus'". We need to step up efforts to unite our Ummah, regardless of where we live," he said.
Ramazan Abdulatipov emphasized that Vladimir Putin has been a key defender of Muslim in Russia and around the world but his calls for unity have not been heard in the West".
