The Islamic world gave mankind many spiritual leaders. Among them, Chingiz Aitmatov undoubtedly has a worthy place, Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Ramazan Abdulatipov told at the "Chingiz Aitmatov International Forum of Writers and Intellectuals" videoconference.
Being a worldwide-known personality, Aitmatov, according to him, started talking to humanity face to face and that is what he called his first novel. Later on, this principle became the main direction of his creative path.
Works of Aitmatov became a warning for mankind which had plunged into a spiritual and moral crisis. The man can survive in the most difficult conditions if he preserves the spiritual and moral foundations. Often the modern world, obsessed with the benefits, selfishness, satisfaction of instincts, forgets about the spiritual and moral foundations on which human society is based. The main task today is to ensure the victory of culture over ignorance. Works of Aitmatov give a reference point in this direction. Aitmatov is the spiritual leader who made to think about the prospects of life.
Separately, Abdulatipov noted the experience of Russia in ensuring interethnic and interreligious peace and suggested, together with the GSV "Russia - Islamic world", to initiate the adoption in the State Duma of a declaration on the contribution of Islamic civilization and Muslim peoples in Russian culture.
Islamic culture, as Abdulatipov emphasized, has become a repository of traditional cultures of Muslim peoples.
"Religion without culture turns into ignorance. Culture without faith becomes cynical. Both religious and secular communities need to take their rightful place in improving the world," the representative of the Russian Federation to the OIC said.
