Additional one hundred thousand doses of COVID-19 vaccine to be delivered to the Russian army

Another 100 thousand doses of the vaccine against the coronavirus infection will be delivered to the Russian army by the end of this year, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said on Wednesday at a meeting with the leadership of the Russian Armed Forces.


"It is planned to receive up to another 100 thousand doses of the vaccine by the end of the year in order to increase vaccination," the Minister said.

 

 

Shoigu said that before the Ministry of Defense had received 14.5 thousand doses of the vaccine, which were distributed to the military districts, the Northern Fleet and the Ministry's central office. He specified that currently more than 8.5 thousand servicemen had been vaccinated.


The minister added that the number of laboratories to detect the coronavirus in the structures of the Ministry of Defense and the troops increased eight times since April, which allows to conduct up to 6,000 check-ups per day.
