Belarus will become the first importer of Russian coronavirus vaccine

Belarus will be the first country Russia to supply  coronavirus vaccine, the press service of the head of the Republic told. This was agreed by presidents Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko during a telephone conversation.

 

 

The report notes that the leaders discussed cooperation in the fight against COVID-19. Thus, Belarusian citizens will voluntarily take part in the third stage of drug testing.


Earlier, the Ministry of Health registered the world's first vaccine for prevention COVID-19 "Sputnik V". It was developed by specialists of the Gamalei Center with the support of the Russian Direct Investment Fund. Experts stressed that during clinical trials, all the volunteers developed high titers of antibodies, and no serious complications were observed in any of them.

 

 

Kirill Dmitriev, the head of RDIF, said that the Fund received applications from more than 20 countries for the purchase of a billion doses of the domestic drug. At the same time, he noted that Russia agreed to produce the vaccine in five countries. According to him, the available capacity allows to make 500 million doses per year. The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov admitted that the export of the vaccine abroad may begin in the spring.
