The Russian defense ministry is planning to build a new military hospital on the territory of the Caspian military garrison, Deputy head of the ministry Timur Ivanov said at a meeting in Makhachkala on Wednesday.
"In order to further develop the social structure, the Russian defense minister has decided to build a new military hospital on the territory of the garrison to provide qualified assistance to servicemen and their families," Ivanov said at a meeting with Dagestan head Sergei Melikov.
Earlier, it was reported that the second stage of the construction of the Caspian Flotilla's berthing front will be completed by the end of 2022.
In early April 2018, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that the Caspian Flotilla would be transferred from Astrakhan to Kaspiysk. According to him, the transfer of the flotilla will be carried out in stages as the infrastructure is created.
