In three Russian regions, 22 members of a terrorist cell have been detained

During a large-scale operation in cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Rosgvardia, the FSB detained members of the inter-regional structure of the international terrorist organization Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan (banned in Russia) in Moscow, Novosibirsk and Krasnoyarsk Krai.


"Twenty-two people from among its leaders and ordinary participants were detained," told TASS at the Center for Public Relations (CPS) of the FSB of Russia.

 

 

According to the FSB, the members of the cell have been calling for crimes of a terrorist nature, recruiting and transferring recruits to combat zones and financing members of the terrorist organization in Syria. "During the detention, banned religious literature, propaganda videos of the international terrorist organization Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan, as well as passports with false statements that were used to carry out illegal activities were discovered and seized," the Central Public Commission said.


Investigative and search operations continue.
