Kadyrov Urges Muslim Leaders to Safeguard Islam from Encroachment

17 August 2023

Ramzan Kadyrov, the leader of Chechnya, has urged the leaders of Muslim countries to safeguard the religion of Islam from acts of disrespect, citing recent incidents of Quran burning in European and Western nations.

"Why do they permit the desecration of our holy scripture and take no substantial measures to defend Muslims and the sanctity of Islam? Is the discontent  and sanctions from the US and Europe more formidable to them than the divine retribution of Almighty Allah? I call upon the leaders of Islamic nations to awaken and employ every possible effort to shield our religion from any malicious transgressions," Kadyrov conveyed through his Telegram channel.

He asserted that currently, only Russia stands against the aggressive atheistic colonial policies of the West and Europe, which have revealed their true essence in Ukraine.

"If we don't firmly resist the agents of malevolence today, they will infiltrate our mosques tomorrow. They will implant the notion that prayer is outdated in our children's minds and reduce our societies into an undistinguished mass of consumers for whom the dollar becomes a deity," he further emphasized.

Since the beginning of the year, cases of Quran-burning demonstrations have escalated in Sweden and other European nations. The first one was organized by Rasmus Paludan, the leader of the Danish far-right Hardline Party, on January 21. The most recent incident unfolded on August 14 near the parliamentary premises in Stockholm.
