Russians will be provided with domestic coronavirus vaccines as a matter of priority, the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov assured journalists on Wednesday.

"Absolute priority is, of course, the Russians," said the Kremlin representative. According to him, the domestic production, which is already being developed, will meet the needs of the Russians.

"As for the needs of possible consumers of this vaccine abroad, they will be met mainly by those production chains, which are currently being built by the RDIF with foreign partners,"  Peskov said. He repeated that in the case of vaccination "the absolute priority is the Russians, who will want to get this vaccine".

Peskov did not answer the question of whether Russia needs foreign vaccines against coronavirus. "It's more of a question to the government headquarters, I can't answer it," explained the Kremlin representative.
