Russian President Vladimir Putin offers deep condolences to the relatives of the children killed in the school shooting in Kazan.
"The president has deep condolences for the relatives of the children who died at the hands of the shooter," Dmitry Peskov, the head of the state's press secretary, told reporters on Tuesday.
He noted that "Putin wishes a speedy recovery to those schoolchildren who were injured."
"The president is working today in Moscow, in the Kremlin. Of course, during the day he will continue his contacts on Kazan. The main thing now will be to help the victims. Of course, the president will continue his contacts with the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education and Science (TASS), the government, and also with the heads of special services," Peskov said.
The president instructed the government to assist and provide medical care and psychological assistance to the injured and wounded children, as well as to provide the necessary assistance to the relatives of the dead.
