President of Russia Vladimir Putin stated that there were no plans to introduce total restrictions in the country due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“We are not planning to introduce any total restrictive measures and to launch the so-called lockdown, when economy and the work of business actually stop”, the President said, speaking at the forum “Russia Calling!”

“Despite the difficult epidemiological environment, now we are prepared to work in the conditions of the pandemic far better”, Putin highlighted. He admits that “there are some issues and problems that need our special attention; there are regions that need special attention”. “But on the whole, the situation is really better. This also applies to the experience of mobilizing the healthcare system and implementing the necessary preventive measures. We have a clear understanding of how to act”, the President said.

According to him, “if there is an objective need, taking into account the recommendations of physicians on the situation in a particular region, city, municipality, justified point decisions will be made, which will maximize the safety of people and preserve the continuous activities of enterprises and organizations”.

Putin asked business owners, managers of enterprises and companies “to show social responsibility and comply with prescriptions of doctors and specialists regarding working conditions of personnel and work teams”.
