Stabilization of the coronavirus situation in Russia provides an opportunity to carefully lift the restrictions imposed, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"Overall, the epidemiological situation in the country is gradually stabilizing. Here just this morning I listened to the relevant reports, we already have more people recovered than those who fell ill. The number of infected people is decreasing. There are less than 20 thousand of them," said the President at a meeting with university students on the occasion of Russian Student Day.

Putin also thanked Moscow authorities, noting that their efforts didn't get away with it and the situation in the capital is now leveling off.

"This makes it possible to smoothly remove the restrictions imposed, to return to a normal academic rhythm," Putin said.

He added that it was necessary to use the experience and all the best practices, to build the digital capacity of universities.
