Shoigu reported to Putin on readiness for the Victory Parade

On June 24, about 30 legendary T-34 tanks will be a part of a column of vehicles at the Victory Parade on Red Square,  Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu told at a meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin with permanent members of the Security Council.



" 30 T-34 tanks will roll through Red Square for the first time since the parade that included actual Great Patriotic War combat machines. These tanks embody our Victory," Shoigu said.



Also,  there will be "a lot of machinery, and quite a few new models, new weaponry that have already entered service or are about to be transferred to the army.  This relates to aircraft, ground-based weaponry and missile defence systems.   All these are at the storage facilities, on full combat alert," the minister said.  - 75 aircrafts, crews are ready, examined and continue training".



" We launched these preparations on June 2, strictly in keeping with the plan. We had three rehearsals already,"  Shoigu said, stressing that "everything will be definitely ready for the parade".

 

The minister emphasized that due to the risks of the spread of the coronavirus infection, all participants of the parade are supplied with masks and gloves; equipment, transport and are constantly disinfected, military doctors monitor the condition of military personnel.
