The level of coronavirus infection in the Russian Armed Forces is now 37% lower than the national average thanks to the measures taken, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said at a meeting of the department's public council.
"The measures we have taken to prevent the spread of new coronavirus infection in the army and navy have yielded results. Today we have a 37% lower case rate per 100,000 people in the armed forces than in the country as a whole," the minister said.
Shoigu noted that the army continues to be vaccinated against the virus with the Sputnik V drug. The Minister specified that this campaign also involves military transport aviation for the prompt delivery of the vaccine to remote garrisons in different parts of the country.
The Minister also reminded that the Ministry built 30 multifunctional medical centers across Russia for the treatment of patients with coronavirus for a year. He added that 24,000 units of various medical equipment have been delivered to these centers.
