"Due to the difficult financial situation of communities" in the context of the coronavirus pandemic, the Religious Board of Muslims of Russia will receive financial assistance from the patron and member of the Federation Council, businessman Suleiman Kerimov,
the Board's website reports.
"Due to the difficult financial situation of the communities, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin asked for help from patron Suleiman Kerimov. The benefactor, whose name is well known to Russian Muslims for financing the construction of the modern complex of the Moscow Cathedral Mosque, responded this time as well. In the coming days, funds will be transferred to the accounts of religious organizations in the regions," the message reads, in particular.
Funds, as noted, are allocated to support statutory activities, "including the payment of social taxes, wages, utility payments."
The Chairman of the Russian Muftis Council Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin called on Muslim communities in Russia to "increase spiritual and educational activities", using available information platforms and modern media formats and the format of books production.
For example, with the support of patron Kerimov, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin's book "Worship: a religious calendar" will be published in ten thousand copies in the next few days.
