Six thousand people will take part in the main stage of the Sputnik Light international clinical trials: three thousand from Russia and the UAE each, Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said in his blog.
According to the Mayor, the new drug, developed at the Gamaleya Institute, is designed to eliminate the main drawback of the classical Sputnik V - the presence of two components to be injected into the patient a few weeks apart.
To be vaccinated with Sputnik Light, only one visit to the clinic is needed. Immunity will begin to build up a week after vaccination and will peak four weeks later.
