Since the beginning of the year, no terrorist acts have been committed in Russia, 41 have been prevented, the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC) reports.
On Tuesday, in Moscow, under the leadership of the chairman of the National Antiterrorist Committee, director of the Federal Security Service of Russia Alexander Bortnikov, a joint meeting of the NAC and the Federal Operational Staff took place, where the results of work in 2020 were summarized and priority directions of activities for 2021 were defined.
"This year no terrorist acts were committed. At the stage of preparation 61 crimes of terrorist orientation were prevented, including 41 terrorist acts", the release says.
The report also says that the security and law enforcement agencies have stopped the activity of 55 legalized cells of international terrorist organizations.
In addition, the NAC reported that 49 militants, including eight leaders, have been neutralized during counter-terrorist operations and combat operations. 36 ringleaders, 162 militants and 591 collaborators were detained. About 600 firearms, 134 IEDs, over 100,000 rounds of ammunition, as well as more than three thousand mines, grenades and other ammunition were seized. Fifty illegal weapons production and conversion facilities were dismantled.
Also, 149 foreign citizens involved in extremist and terrorist activity are not allowed to enter the Russian Federation.
