16 July

Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov briefed Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin on the socio-economic development of the region. Kadyrov highlighted several areas of progress, including demographic development, education, employment, and the resettlement of residents from emergency housing.

Kadyrov noted that the Chechen Republic has maintained leading positions in demographic indicators, with a birth rate of 19.7 for 2023. He mentioned the establishment of a perinatal center and the purchase of necessary equipment to support this growth. In the field of education, Kadyrov emphasized the elimination of the three-shift school system, with 82 schools built in the region over the past three years.

Reducing unemployment and increasing employment were identified as key tasks. Kadyrov reported that 5,650 permanent and over 11,500 temporary jobs were created in 2023 through investment projects and state programs, resulting in an unemployment rate decrease to 7.1%. A roadmap for further unemployment reduction until 2030 has been introduced.

Kadyrov also discussed the resettlement of almost 27,000 people from emergency housing since 2022, with a total of 11,500 people resettled ahead of schedule over the past five years.

Mishustin emphasized the importance of the work carried out by the region's leadership and urged the continuation of efforts to fulfill the tasks set by the Russian president, including the development of the Chechen Republic and the achievement of all national development goals.
