The head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov instructed to allocate funds for the dowry for brides to more than 200 grooms who do not have the financial capacity to do so in the conditions of the pandemic, the press service of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Republic said.
Earlier, Kadyrov instructed the clergy to draw up lists of those who want to marry, but do not have the financial opportunity to do so, including because of quarantine restrictions.
"On behalf of the head of the Republic Ramzan Kadyrov, lists of people who want to get married but have financial difficulties were formed in all districts. The regional Fund of Akhmat-Haji Kadyrov allocated funds for the dowry of 207 brides according to the compiled list, " the Muftiate noted. The groom's family will receive 50 thousand rubles to perform the wedding ceremony according to Muslim canons, which provides for the payment of a certain amount of money for the bride - urdu, established by the clergy. This money is given as a gift to the bride.
The Muftiate stressed that due to the pandemic, only two cars can go for the bride, the participants in the celebrations are limited to the closest relatives.
In Chechnya, since the beginning of April, the clergy have banned weddings according to Islamic canons because of the coronavirus. Dozens of weddings had to be postponed, the most frequently asked question of the Republic's authorities during the self-isolation regime was related to the lifting of the ban on marriage. Since May 25, the ban was lifted, but restrictions on wedding celebrations remain, and the number of participants in the wedding ceremony is limited.
